BATON ROUGE - A state judge in Louisiana is praising rapper Torence "Lil Boosie" Hatch for making progress while on probation for a 2009 drug conviction.
32-year-old Hatch appeared Friday before state District Judge Chip Moore for a probation review.
Hatch, a former Baton Rouge resident, now lives in New Orleans. He told the judge he has been speaking in schools and at homeless shelters as part of his court-ordered 100 hours of community service.
Moore told Hatch it looked like he was doing well with his probation officer in New Orleans.
One of Hatch's attorneys, Roy Maughan Jr., said the rapper performed Thursday night before about 10,000 fans at a sold-out arena in Oakland, California, before flying to Louisiana for his Friday probation review.
