Lightning hit a 10,000 gallon tank containing a mixture of water and oil sparking a fire Monday at a Morgan City business.

Sheriff's deputies said the fire broke out just before 2:30 p.m. at Phillip's Services in the 9700 block of Highway 87.

Firefighters said the tank was half full of the mixture and it took them more than 5 1/2 hours to put out the blaze.

No one was injured in the fire, fire investigators said no other tanks at the site were damaged.
