Light's green for traffic, new signals in BR
BATON ROUGE- Four intersections are being regulated by new signals to regulate traffic flow.
The new lights on Jefferson Highway are synchronized and can be adjusted by the time of day and amount of traffic. Another new feature allows the lights to change from green to red to allow traffic to stop for emergency vehicles.
It's part of a plan to get all major intersections working together.
Eventually, eleven intersections along Jefferson Hwy. will now be controlled and monitored from the Traffic Management Center.
The next phase will include intersections along Government St. and North and South Foster Dr., followed by Choctaw Dr.
