TRIPOLI, Libya - People are celebrating in the streets of Libya's capital, amid reports that Moammar Gadhafi has been captured or killed as anti-Gadhafi forces overwhelmed his hometown of Sirte.

There's no official announcement from Libya's transitional government. But the country's information minister says he was told of Gadhafi's death by fighters who said they saw the body.

NATO officials say they can't independently confirm whether Gadhafi was captured or killed. But the alliance says its aircraft today struck two vehicles of pro-Gadhafi forces near Sirte.
