Library supporters, opposers voice opinons at council meeting

BATON ROUGE - About a dozen Baton Rouge residents attended the budget meeting held by the metro council to discuss what the fate of the downtown library.

Davis Rhorer and a library board member have spoken in support of the 19 mill downtown library project. Those opposed have suggested other uses for the money such as literacy programs and new computers.

Some have also said its unfair to focus on one are and ignore the rest of the city.

One man did say libraries have gotten better, but they didn't want this.

Public hearing has consisted of basic 3 min. Thoughts on the library budget. There are dozens present, only a few in red with bears representing the TEA party.
