Library asks for tax renewal, but it'll be a few bucks more
BATON ROUGE - The library board here approved asking voters to renew its operational tax.
Following the approval Thursday night, the measure next goes before the Metro Council and, if approved there, then to voters.
But, while the tax is a renewal, it will collect more than what the library is currently collecting. The tax was approved ten years ago for 11.1 mills. The current collection is less than 11, amounting to a $4 difference.
