Baton Rouge - If you're a lemonade fan mark May 7th on your calendar.
That's because on that day 5,000 children in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Lafayette will be running their own lemonade stands as part of an initiative to teach children how to start, own and operate their own business.
Baton Rouge's participation was announced at a press conference by Mayor Holden today.
Lemonade Day began in Houston in 2007, and was inspired by the lessons businessman Michael Holthouse taught his young daughter and her friend when they set up a lemonade stand.
Since then it has grown to a nationwide program, and this year Lemonade Day will expand to 28 cities.
