From Mike Steele.....

A bill by Rep. Henry that would eliminate the position of Lt. Governor failed by one vote this morning. Sec. of State Jay Dardenne (a candidate for the position) spoke before the committee and said Louisiana needs an ambassador for tourism especially in light of situations like the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

From Michael Shingleton:

House Bill 1328, which would call for owners of dangerous dogs to have liability insurance for any person injury inflicted on another by the animal, has been deferred. It can be brought up again one a firm definition of a "dangerous dog" is defined.
