Man wanted for attempted murder arrested after chase ends on I-110 Monday
BATON ROUGE – A man has been arrested after he led officers on a pursuit Monday afternoon that ended on I-110.
The man, 28-year-old Julius Bess, was wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department for attempted second degree murder, felon in possession of a firearm and illegal use of a weapon.

The pursuit happened around 3:30 p.m. and caused the left lane of I-110 to be closed southbound, resulting in some congestion for a few minutes, but was reopened shortly after.
Bess was wanted by police for shooting at a man on Dec. 5 in the Nelson Trailer Park on Victoria Drive. According to BRPD, the victim was trying to pick up his children from their mother's home in the trailer park. As the victim was leaving, Bess followed him outside and began to argue. Bess then got a gun and shot at the victim twice as he fled in his car.
Bess was the boyfriend of the mother's children, according to BRPD. The victim also stated that he has known Bess since his childhood.
