"Left Behind" filming at BTR to include pyrotechnics
BATON ROUGE - Airport officials said filming for a Nicolas Cage movie tonight at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport could include explosions and pyrotechnics.
BTR spokesperson Jim Caldwell said the production company for Cage's film, "Left Behind," would film Wednesday and possibly Thursday nights from dusk until dawn on the north side of the airport field.
Caldwell said the filming would include intermittent pyrotechnics, including fire pods, smoke, and explosive noises. He said people living and working on Plank and Blount Roads near the airport might specifically see the smoke and flames from the filming.
Cage's film is based off the "Left Behind" series of novels which take place in a post-Rapture world and stars Cage, Ashley Tisdale, and Chad Michael Murray. It's scheduled to be released next year.
