A Leesville man convicted of starting four fires in Vernon Parish has been sentenced to jail time and fined $1,000.
Derrell Wayne Westmoreland was ordered to serve six years in prison and pay the fine and court costs.
The prison sentence was suspended, but Westmoreland will serve one year in the Vernon Parish Jail and three years of supervised probation.
As a condition of the probation, Westmoreland must pay restitution to three property owners for fire-damaged timber.
