Leaders will address possible closure of police dept.
SORRENTO- Tuesday, city leaders are expected to discuss the town's issue over the police department and its anticipated loss of insurance.
Sorrento Police will be dropped by the insurance provider and without coverage, the department can not operate. The company said two officers did not take required psychological tests.
The assistant chief, who is working on behalf of the chief while he's out on sick leave, said the mayor has been slow in giving him documents to purchase insurance. The deadline for coverage is in about two weeks.
Before the chief left, he said he was working to buy insurance and had talked with many companies but had not heard back.
