Leaders to host forum on community's desire for EKL site
BATON ROUGE - City and state leaders want to hear what people would like to see replace the shuttered Earl K. Long Hospital.
Thursday, there is a forum to discuss what people might envision. The meting is hosted by State Senator Sharon Weston Broome, State Representative Regina Barrow and Metro Councilwoman Ronnie Edwards.
The discussion happens Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. at the S.E. Mackey Center 6543 Ford Street Baton Rouge, LA 70811.
EKL was closed in April 2013, when the state dismantled its charity hospital system.
In December, WBRZ was given an exclusive tour of the abandoned facility. Click HERE to watch the report.
EKL will be torn down sometime in 2015.
