LB Chris Hill released from La-Lafayette team
LAFAYETTE - Linebacker Chris Hill has been dismissed from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette's football team.
Coach Mark Hudspeth announced Hill's release Monday.
Hill, of Homestead, Florida, was arrested on one misdemeanor count of domestic abuse battery in early October. Campus police were called to a parking garage about a domestic disturbance but both parties were gone by the time officers arrived.
Hill was arrested based on a statement from the victim and surveillance video from the garage.
Days later, the university said Hill was suspended indefinitely but was not dismissed from the team. Hudspeth previously said Hill's future would be decided after the criminal charge worked its way through the court system.
Hill's arraignment is scheduled Jan. 1. It was unknown if he has an attorney.
