BATON ROUGE- State Representative Jim Morris, R-Oil City, says he did not agree with some of Governor Jindal's key session issues concerning the budget and education reform.

Critics of the governor say that is the reason he was removed as the vice-chairman of the House Natural Resources and Environment Committee.  In a phone interview with News 2, Representative Morris says he is not sure of the exact reason.

Morris says the official decision was made by House Speaker Chuck Kleckley.  He told Morris it was because Morris had a lack of interest in the committee assignment.  Morris does not agree with that assessment.

The governor's staff says Jindal was not part of the decision to remove Morris.
