As the qualifying rounds of the 2010 World Cup are coming to a close, the stakes for each match get even higher. In Monday's early game, Portugal eliminated North Korea from advancing to the knockout rounds after issuing a 7-0 destruction.
In game 2, Chile ended Switzerland's World Cup record streak of 559 minutes without allowing a goal when they defeated the Swiss 1-0. With the win, Chile is now one of four teams with 6 points in the tournament.
Spain ended the Monday's World Cup activities with a win of their own against Honduras by a score of 2-0.
