BATON ROUGE- About a dozen dogs could be euthanized if they are not placed in foster homes or adopted from the East Baton Rouge Animal Shelter by tomorrow.

Companion Animal Alliance, the organization that took over shelter operations at East Baton Rouge Animal Control and Rescue earlier this year, does not have enough kennel space for the animals.

The shelter is open Sunday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. It's located at 2680 Progress Road near the Baton Rouge Metro Airport.

The adoption fee is $60 and includes spay or neuter, vaccinations, micro-chipping, pet insurance and heartworm testing.
