Last flooded Ascension roads reopened
PRAIRIEVILLE - Authorities in Ascension Parish said the last road blocked by backwater flooding were no open.
Johnny Richardson with the parish Department of Public Works said crews removed barricades at Summerfield South Road and Airport Drive Thursday morning.
Six roads in the northern part of the parish had been barricaded after heavy rainfall earlier this week. The rain caused backwater flooding along certain areas near Bayou Manchac and the Amite River.
