Last flight for US Airways designated
DALLAS- US Airways will fly its last flight under that name in the fall.
It'll be flight 434 departing from San Francisco and bound for Philadelphia on Oct. 18. The US Airways website will also go dark. Then the airport signs and kiosks will be changed to American Airlines.
The two carriers merged in 2013 and kept the better-known name of American. The companies say their biggest challenge is merging their two different computer systems.
United Airlines has had glitches since it merged with Continental which had led to two major computer shut-downs and grounded hundreds of flights. The latest trouble was this week.
