SLIDELL - Authorities arrested two people and seized dozens of marijuana plants and weapons from a Slidell home they said was the site of a large-scale grow operations.
State Police said they and several other agencies searched the home today and found 56 live plants, drug paraphernalia, 21 firearms including semi-automatic and fully automatic weapons, and more than $5,000 in cash. They said they also found about $10,000 worth of marijuana packaged for distribution. The plants were worth more than $360,000.
Trooper Nick Manale said investigators arrested Timothy O'Neil III, 51, and his girlfriend Margie Anderson, 38, on numerous drug and weapon charges.
Manale said the investigation stemmed from a traffic stop three months, which led LSP detectives to suspect O'Neil of running the grow at his home. He said the setup included an elaborate watering, filtration and lighting system to grow the plants.
Both were booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
