Lane closure on Whiskey Bay Bridge scheduled next week
IBERVILLE - Motorists who travel eastbound on I-10 across the Whiskey Bay Bridge will want to be aware of a lane closure, scheduled for high volume morning commute hours, next week.
State traffic officials say the right lane of I-10, between mile marker 126.8 and 126.9, will be closed to eastbound traffic on Tuesday, Dec. 16 as crews perform inspection work on the heavily traveled bridge. LADOTD estimates the work to begin at 6:30 a.m. and wrap up at 9 a.m., but urge motorists to be patient in the event this schedule is not met.
Delays resulting from congestion can be expected to accompany the bridge inspection. Traffic officials remind the public to use caution when driving through the area and to be aware of work crews and their equipment.
