Lane change begins Thursday night
BATON ROUGE- Thursday evening, crews will begin to change the lane format of Burbank Drive near LSU.
The state is adding a middle turn lane, brining the total lanes on the roadway to five from Nicholson to the median closer to Lee. Work is expected to only take a few days and be complete by Monday.
Engineers believe the change will help the flow of traffic, since left turns are sometimes impossible with only four lanes. Travel lanes will be more narrow with center turn lane.
