The Baton Rouge City-Parish Planning Commission has received the 2009-2010 Professional Design Award, from the Louisiana Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

The award came in the category for Stormwater Best Practices Education Program.

It recognizes accomplishments in communicating practices for environmental sustainability in the design process.

The program provides information about stormwater management to development professionals.

It also educates people about stormwater impacting the environment.
