Lake Charles man accused of elderly abuse
LAKE CHARLES - Authorities say a 23-year-old Lake Charles man allegedly kicked a mentally disabled elderly family member multiple times in the face, head and neck, causing swelling,
Calcasieu Parish sheriff's deputies were called to investigate at 4 a.m. Monday.
Spokeswoman Kim Myers says Chad L. Parker was arrested and became irate, spitting at and threatening deputies. She says Parker also kicked the back window of a patrol car, breaking a $500 camera.
Parker was booked with simple battery of the infirm, threatening a public official, resisting an officer and simple criminal property damage over $500.
It was unclear whether Parker has an attorney.
Judge Mike Canaday set Parker's bond at $170,000.
