Laird's walk-off lifts Tigers to series win vs. Arkansas
BATON ROUGE - LSU outfielder Mark Laird claimed his first walk-off hit in his college career, lifting the Tigers to a 5-4 win over Arkansas on Saturday afternoon.
The score was tied at 4 in the bottom of the ninth, and with two runners on base, Laird sliced a single down the left field line, scoring Jake Fraley to give the Tigers their second straight series win.
LSU build a 4-0 lead afer the 4th, but the Razorbacks rallied with 2 runs in the 5th, and single runs in the 6th and 7th to tie the game.
With runners on for Arkansas in the top of the 9th, Joe Broussard earned a win by closing the door with a strikeout to end the half-inning.
LSU improves to 27-8-1 on the season, and will look to earn their second straight conference sweep Sunday at 1:00 pm.
