Lafayette police say a father found his son dead on the carport of a vacant house.

Cpl. Randall Leger tells The Advertiser that 28-year-old Joseph Lamar Dugas was found dead early Tuesday morning.

Leger said the death is under investigation, pending an autopsy to determine how the victim died, but foul play is suspected.

Leger said Dugas suffered blunt-force trauma to the head but could not confirm whether it was the cause of death.
