The process of forming an official commission to review the Home Rule Charter for Lafayette
city-parish government is taking shape.
A formal announcement will be made at Tuesday's City-Parish Council meeting, and resumes will be accepted until May 18.
The commission will be comprised of four people who live outside the corporate limits of Lafayette and three who live in any municipality in Lafayette Parish.
The commission will be able to recommend changes to the charter, and recommend abolishing the current form of local government and going back to separate city and parish systems.
