LAFAYETTE- A Christmas ornament designed by Lafayette artist Tony Bernard will serve as Louisiana's official ornament for the White House tree.

Bernard and students at Copper Mill Elementary School in Zachary decorated ornaments, along with Louisiana First Lady Supriya Jindal last week.

This happened at the request of the National Park Service for showcasing on the 2011 National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C., and on the "Louisiana" tree, which stands in the same area.
