LSU's Lady Tigers enter the 2009-10 season as the highest ranked team in the Southeastern Conference at No. 9 in the polls.

The Lady Tigers tip off the season Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Loyola of New Orleans at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Coach Van Chancellor said he's not sure if his team deserves the nod, but he feels a lot better about coaching them.

Last season, after Sylvia Fowles, Erica White and Quianna Chaney departed for the WNBA, Chancellor turned to junior Allison Hightower to carry the load.
