Lady Tiger hoops survive first round scare to Green Bay
The LSU Lady Tiger basketball team survived a first round scare from the Green Bay Phoenix in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, but held on to advance to face Penn St. Tuesday night with the 75-71 victory.
LSU held a double digit lead twice in the final five minutes of play, however three point shooting from the Phoenix trimmed the lead down to four and three points with less than a minute to play.
The Lady Tigers made most of their free throws down the stretch to preserve the win and advance to now to face the team that eliminated them last season in the second round Penn St..
The Lady Lions beat Cal Poly 85-55 earlier on Sunday at the Maravich Center.
