"Ladies on the Bluff" learn from SU coaches
BATON ROUGE - Some of the Southern fan base went back to the classroom Monday night in Southern's "Ladies on the Bluff" clinic.
Women who wanted to learn more about the game of football took in lectures and on-field coaching from the Southern University football staff, including head coach Dawson Odums.
"I think we have a football team that is more hungry than they were last year," said Odums. "I think they understand the work that it takes, and I think they understand what they have to get better at...so we're excited to see how the new puzzle pieces fit with the old."
Coach Odums also said he has his eye on the real players reporting later this week.
"Vacation is over, the preparation it takes to get a football team ready," said the head coach. "We're excited about the opportunity that lies in front of us."
