LaCAN's Disability Rights Rally
BATON ROUGE - Louisiana Citizens for Action Now is hosting a Disability Rights Rally at the State Capitol.
LaCAN is an initiative of the Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council. The council's Executive Director Sandee Winchell and Ashley McReynolds appeared on 2une In Thursday to talk about the event.
The purpose of the rally is it "urge lawmakers to keep funding for waiver slots in the budget and to restore funding for other programs that help people with developmental disabilities [who] live in their own homes.
The rally starts at 1:00 pm at the State Capitol steps on Wednesday, March 19th. For more information, visit the rally's website or watch the video.
