La. weekly initial unemployment claims down
BATON ROUGE - First-time claims for unemployment insurance in Louisiana for the week ending Aug. 10 decreased from the previous week's total.
The state labor department figures released Friday show 2,719 initial claims compared to 2,844 a week earlier.
The four-week moving average of initial claims decreased to 2,806 from the previous week's average of 3,068.
Continued unemployment claims claimed for the week ending Aug. 10 decreased to 26,891 compared to the previous week's total of 26,907.
The four-week moving average of such claims increased to 26,824 from the previous week's average of 26,718.
