- La. ranks 13th in growth of women-owned businesses
BATON ROUGE - U. S. Census data shows women in Louisiana made gains when it comes to owning businesses.
The data showed the number of women-owned businesses increased 60.9 percent since 1997. That puts it 13th in the nation for that type of growth.
More than 100,000 businesses in Louisiana are owned by women.
