The director of a company that operates several wastewater treatment facilities in Louisiana has been arrested on charges he allowed untreated wastewater to be illegally dumped.
Joseph L. Jones of Opelousas faces 12 felony charges involving alleged violations of Plaisance Development Corp.'s water discharge permits.
Jones was arrested at his Opelousas office accused of knowingly violating his company's permits by failing to provide monitoring results, allowing unpermitted discharges and failing to properly maintain wastewater treatment units.
