La. judge revokes bond in trooper shooting
A $1 million bond has been revoked for a 21-year-old Texas man accused of shooting a state trooper July 3.
Judge Alvin Batiste ordered Robert Daniel Armendariz of El Paso to be held in jail without bond pending trial on a count of attempted first-degree murder.
District Attorney Ricky Ward says Nevada and Texas authorities have requested Armendariz be held in connection with alleged crimes he committed in those states.
The judge also ordered Fabian Herrera of Houston held under a $1 million cash bond.
Herrera faces a charge of accessory to first-degree murder.
Trooper David Conway was shot during a traffic stop in Iberville Parish.
He was released from a hospital the next day.
