WAUKESHA, Wis. - Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal says Wisconsin's recall election is being watched around the nation, but it ultimately comes down to whether Wisconsinites choose to retain their strong conservative leader.
Jindal was in the Milwaukee suburb of Waukesha (WAH'-keh-shaw) on Thursday with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a fellow Republican. Walker faces a recall election June 5, in part for pushing a law that severely restricted collective-bargaining rights for most public workers.
Jindal says he was impressed when he heard Walker say that making tough decisions is about the next generation, not the next election. Jindal says he liked that philosophy so much he repeated that line for the Louisiana Legislature.
He closed by saying Walker has done more in a short time than some governors do in their entire careers.
