WBRZ - Baton Rouge

The Shaw Group has been awarded a contract by the state's Office of Coastal Protection and Restoration to manage the construction of sand berms in response to the oil spill. The company will provide workers, equipment and materials to help build the barriers.

The Shaw Group also helped in the days after Hurricane Katrina, removing wrecked boats and debris from the waterways.

Shaw's corporate headquarters are in Baton Rouge.
