Louisiana State Police said LA 30 may be open by 10 p.m.
The road has been closed due to an 18-wheeler that overturned earlier today. Police said the 18-wheeler’s trailer has been up-righted and attached to a new tractor. It is being inspected before being hauled back to Air Liquide in Geismer. Once the trailer has been moved, the crane used to up-right the 18-wheeler will be broken down.
Police said a brown pick-up truck traveling west on LA 30 tried to pass the 18-wheeler and cut the vehicle off. The driver of the 18-wheeler lost control, and the vehicle flipped on its side. The driver sustained minor injuries. Police are still looking for the pick-up truck.
