LA 19 closed for hours following 18-wheeler accident, now open
BATON ROUGE- LA 19, north of LA 10, was closed for more than three hours Thursday morning due to a single-car accident.
The interstate was closed from 6:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. because an 18-wheeler went off of the road and into a ditch. According to State Police, the towing process to get the truck out of the ditch took over four hours, causing the closure.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was cited for careless operation and no injuries were reported.
LA 19 is now open.
