DONALDSONVILLE - LA-1 is closed in both directions as crews work to clean up a spill of non-hazardous material.

The closure affects the portion of LA-1 between LA-405 and LA-943 (Donaldsonville).

Traffic is not passing through at this time as all lanes remain closed in both directions.

As of 6:20 p.m., congestion related to the incident was minimal but building.

There’s no word yet on what exactly spilled to cause the closure but that is expected in a future update.
