WHITEHALL- A Korean War veteran returns home and is laid to rest 61 years after his death
Corporal William Fontenot was buried today at Whitehall Cemetery with full military honors.
He was 20 years old when he died in a POW camp during war. But his body stayed in Hawaii unidentified since 1954.
His family along with the rest of the Livingston Parish community he grew up in says they never stopped praying for answers.
"We were ready for him to come home but we never thought we would see it." says Cpl Fontenot's sister Barbera Fontenot Noel.
Corporal Fontenot's skeleton was indentified thanks to new technology.
