BATON ROUGE - A man who robbed a computer repair store Monday threatened an employee with a knife.

The robbery happened at Dot Calm Computer Repairs on Government Street. The owner says the man got away with $100 in cash and a used iPhone.

"You know, young, ignorant criminal at this point," said store owner Claude Louis. "He came in and got what he needed."

Dot Calm has been in business for nine years. Louis says this is the first time anyone in his store has felt threatened.

"There's so much on Government Street between the Catholic church, feeding the homeless and these other things," he said. "It's hard to say who's a criminal and who's not."

Louis says he's trained his employees to react to situations like this. Monday, the employee in the shop was quick to hit a button signaling for the police. Still, the store owner is looking into upgrading surveillance.

Police said the armed man was described as a black male, 5'9"-5'10", 21-23 years of age with a skinny build and low haircut.

Anyone with information about the robber's identity should contact the Armed Robbery Office at (225) 389-3845.
