Klan promises massive protest
The Ku Klux Klan promised a massive protest in Memphis because the city renamed three parks that celebrated the Confederacy. One was changed from a Confederate General who was also the group's Grand Wizard. That park was renamed Health Sciences Park, replacing the name of Nathan Bedford Forrest. Confederate and Jefferson Davis Parks were also renamed. The "Exalted Cyclops" of the Klan promised thousands of Klan members from across the country would rally against renaming the parks and the city says it is free to do it, lawfully.
