Kissing Congressman to visit our area this month
ST. FRANCISVILLE - The "Kissing Congressman" will meet with voters in the southernmost areas of his district in two weeks.
Friday, GOP Congressman Vance McAllister announced a series of meetings throughout the 5th Congressional District. He'll be in the Felicianas and Tangipahoa on Wednesday, May 14th.
It will be the first time he is this far south- his district stretches from the Florida Parishes to northeast Louisiana where McAllister is from- since the kissing scandal broke in early April. He was seen on security video at his office kissing a congressional worker who was not his wife. The recording was leaked months after it was recorded.
McAllister has ignored calls for his resignation from a number of people, including Republicans, but said he will not run for re-election in the fall.
