Kissing congressman may return to politics
MONROE- The kissing congressman is not ruling out a future career in politics.
According to Politico, Vance McAllister is not quite ready to leave politics completely. The website posted this week, McAllister was quite open about his future in what is described as a brief interview about his plans down the road.
I wouldn't rule it out," he said about returning to political life after he was caught on video kissing a staffer who was not his wife.
"I'd just have to see what's right for me and my family at the time. ... For future politics, I don't know what it holds, but if there's a possibility that the people want me to do another political office, again, maybe I'll do it," Politico reported him saying.
The republican from north Louisiana has said he is not running for re-election in the fall. He was elected last year to fill the remainder of Rodney Alexander's term after Alexander left for a state position.
McAllister represents the 5th District, which covers part of the Florida Parishes and western sides of the Mississippi River.
