Killer sentenced to 2 life terms plus 100 years
BATON ROUGE - An East Feliciana Parish man was slapped with two life sentences plus 100 years for a particularly brutal murder in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Dominique Smith was convicted in March and sentenced today for the murder of his former girlfriend, Jessica Palmer, 23, and her three year old son Juan Palmer, Jr.
They were found with their throats slashed in a BREC park on Port Hudson-Pride Road in May of 2008.
Smith also tried to kill a 4-year-old and a 6-month-old. They were left for dead in the park.
Judge Tony Marabella sentenced Smith to life for each murder and 50 years each for the attempted murders, and ordered the sentences to be served consecutively.
