Kidnapper kills himself in prison
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Media outlets here are reporting convicted kidnapper Ariel Castro killed himself Tuesday night in his prison cell.
Castro was set to spend life in prison after he was found guilty of holding three women captive in Cleveland for more than a decade and raping them repeatedly.
WBNS TV reported prison medical staff tried to revive him, but they were unsuccessful.
Castro was found hanging in his cell around 9:20 p.m. He was pronounced dead at a hospital at 10:52 p.m.
