IRBIL, Iraq - U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has returned to Iraq for a second straight day in hopes of unsnarling bitter political feuds that have given rise to a bloody Sunni insurgency.

Kerry traveled Tuesday to Irbil, the capital of Iraq's northern, autonomous Kurdish region. He will meet with Kurdish regional President Massoud Barzani.

Kerry is seeking Barzani's support in pushing reforms in Iraq's Shiite-led government, trying to ease rising anger among Sunni groups who feel they have been sidelined from power or equal rights.

Insurgents have seized on that frustration as they defeat government forces and claim territory across Iraq in a campaign to create a Sunni religious state.

Kerry hopes Barzani will help push the Shiite government to be more inclusive for Iraq's minorities.
