Kardashian runs afoul of FDA
WASHINGTON- Using social media has reality TV star Kim Kardashian in hot water with the Food and Drug Administration, which says she's violating drug-promotion rules.
She recently began promoting a prescription pill that treats morning sickness, touting it on her social media accounts. It's common for celebrities to have endorsement deals, but FDA regulators say the posts violate drug promotion rules because they don't mention potentially dangerous side effects and drug interactions.
Kardashian posted on Instragram and Facebook this month talking about her struggles with nausea due to pregnancy and recommends a drug made by a Canadian manufacturer.
The drug maker says it will fix the issue.
